The interior... part 2- the kitchen?
Uh-oh!! I have so many ideas... I imagine my kitchen wiould be with a little bit of grey, a little bit of brown, a little bit of cream and a little bit of RED. But I figure, how much RED can you put in a kitchen. So, I thought may be I can have a RED cabinet instead. Since I don't want a RED countertop. But living in Brunei you can't expect too much. Plus I don't want to spend my money on JUST the kitchen. This is what I had in mind .. & look what I got.

The interior... Part 1
I asked our contractor if we could pick our tiles already & he said yes. I have this crazy ideas of having an all WHITELY PAINTED HOUSE. When I said white, it meant, ALL white, the wall, the floor, the ceiling & the door. I can picture it in my eyes.... Isn't it cool??.
This will be our living room tiles. After going back and forth to a couple of tiles shops in I manage to get this tile. Actually, I wanted a different one, but it was too costly. I ended choosing this one, the closest to white I can get. I think I also bought this for our bedroom.
This is for our main entrance. Yes, we decided to have this gold metal door.
This door is for our balcony.
This is going to be the door that connect the living room and the corridor. My brother have the same door, the door in the picture was taken from his house.I didn't expect they have the same idea as us.
and this will the door that connects our living room and our dining room. Again, this picture was taken from my brother's house. I asked my brother to take the picture and whats App-ed it to me, to show it to the contractor.
I want it BROWN
Mr. Liew, our contractor, give me a call asking me what colour our house roof is going to be... I said "BROWN".. yes, I want it to be brown, NO, we want it to be BROWN.. sInce we couldn't agree on blue and red.. We decided to have a brown roof top.. Nice eh..
This picture was taken before the installed the roof from my brother's in-law house.

Our house viewed from front left. From here you can see on the ground floor the parking lot, the living and dining area, laundry area, the maid's room and a bit of the kitchen. On the 1st floor, you can see the balcony and the master bedroom.
Our house views from the right. From here you can see, on the 1st floor, the balcony, praying room and my working room and on the ground floor the living room and the guest room hidden behind the bricks.
The 'Teratak Merah Delima'
I manage to take this shots, this is how our house is going to look like when its done... Oh-uh I so can't wait!!!! The contractor told me it's a Modern Contemporary design.. Not so old style yet not so modern.. We preferred it to be that way... The house was designed by Ak Bulqiny Design.

Since, it took them like forever finishing the house. We decided to go for umrah . We hesitated at first when my parents voice out the offer. But then, i thougt this may be for a better good to us & the house.
It was upon our return from umrah, I received a call from our contractor, they are going to start with the beam soon.. We were so glad.. Alhamdulillah

Now that it's cleared...
Finally, after two years of waiting patiently(with a little bit of frustrations here and there) my contractor Mr. Liew from EVEREASE enterprise give me a call just after we came back from our Umrah. He was a bit off-beat, cos he has been trying to reach me, but I was nowhere to be found. Hahaha, not our fault, I've been trying to call him, but he never answer. I wonder why? A little bit of disappointed there. Anyway, the reason he called was, he asked us to choose that for "Mengunjam". Mengunjam was my husband's family tradition; the first pillar(chosed by my brother in-law) of any house must be blessed with do'a from all members of the family. Apparently, I just found out, in their traditions, a pregnant lady won't be allowed to do this rituals, there considered it as 'tabboo'.
During the "Mengunjam" session, taken just after the azan Suboh, dawn of 7th April 2012.
Picture taken the very next morning, my husband and I decided to take an emergency leave for that very day.
Teratak Merah Delima
Hi, in this blog, I want to write on the steps and the procedure taken in building our house "Teratak Merah Delima(TMD)". By the way, I name our house cos I love delima(Ruby Stone) and Merah(Red Colour) and hence the name of the house. When I told my husband about it, he also finds it cute. The idea of building this house came way back when we were just newly wed. Little that I knew, we only started building it in 2010. I remembered because my brother was getting married, so there was I while busy preparing my brother's marriage, also busy meeting the banker and the lawyer, but that was 2 years ago. These year, we finally see TMD in the making. I'll try to jot down as much as I can about TMD.
The land where we are going to build TMD, was half hill. So, this picture was taken when the bulldozer has done cuttin ghalf the hill. That was my husband standing in the middle.
Again, my darling dearest from another angle.
This picture is when there have done clearing the hills
